WHEN: Wednesday, April 24th from 8:00-10:00 a.m.
WHERE: MN History Center, Staff Lounge
Join the Minnesota Historical Society's 2013 Commuter Challenge! At the kick-off event on April 24th you'll learn about sustainable transportation options, enjoy free food and coffee, and have a chance to win prizes when you sign up to take the Commuter Challenge!
Remember to fill out our simple online poll with the zip code where you commute from. We'll use that information anonymously to map out the distances MHS staff are commuting.
Last year over 100 MHS staff participated in the Commuter Challenge, pledging to take the bus or train, bicycle, carpool, walk, telework or vanpool instead of driving alone. The Challenge runs from April - June, and participants can track their trips through Metro Transit's Trip Tracker to keep track of what you're savnig in gas, CO2 emissions, calories and miles when you replace driving alone with other commuting options. If you track at least one trip per week (other than driving by yourself), you'll be automatically entered in a monthly drawing for a $100 gift card!
The MHS Commuter Challenge Resource Fair will feature information from St. Paul Smart Trips, Metro Transit, Nice Ride, Hour Car, and Bike Walk Twin Cities. Our intent with this event is to help you learn about the options and resources that exist for sustainable commuting. Stay tuned for more details and we hope to see you at the event!
